Khachadoorian has worked in the prop shop of such films as Armageddon (co-written by J.J. Abrams), Inspector Gadget (featuring Rene Auberjonois and Andy Dick), and Planet of the Apes (2001, featuring Erick Avari, Anne Elizabeth Ramsay, Freda Foh Shen, Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa, and David Warner). He also headed up KOW FX's prop shop for the 2005 film The Island, which, like Star Trek, was written by Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci. Jeff Ogg also worked on all of these movies. In fact, the first time they worked together was their very first film project, the 1996 comedy Jingle All the Way.
