The Mutant Bee was the titular insectoid character from one of Vincent Van Ghoul's movies, the Mutant Bee. Van Ghoul hired an actor to play the creature when he was trying to start a reality show to scare his dinner guests, and Shaggy Rogers and Scooby-Doo were his first "victims."
