The Heavy Blaster Turret is the largest version of the famous line of Pyrogenesis Compound Blasters, so big that only a turret mechanism allows it to hit anything at all. This weapon, as with other blasters, is more effective against shields than armor. This leads most space captains to mount other weapons as well, such as fusion pulse weaponry, in order to shred armor once the enemy's shields are gone. The Heavy Blaster is normally only carried by capital ships because of its large size and mass.
