The Nitaaru Consortium has existed in one shape or form since the founding of the Kartanin Dominion. It had been established by the Nitaaru to direct the interstellar trade and shipping of Ardustaar, including its various economical dealings outside of the star cluster - primarily via their network of Trade Stars, massive trading stations orbitting all important worlds of the Dominion. In 3 ABY, it was completely reorganized in order to better interact with confederate and galactic economic laws. With increasing contact to other societies it has grown exponentially, and today, it is the largest and most influential economical entity within the Dominion. Their largest bases of operation are within the Ri'itar'a System and the Xitai Trade Star.
