Sungers are a species of lizards native to California, Nevada, Arizona, and Oregon that are named for their ability to "sing" due to their highly developed vocal cords. Their "singing" vocalization sounds much like this, but with slightly less human-like tone. They resemble a cross between a common wall lizard and a northern alligator lizard. They mainly feed on insects, but can also feed spiders, fish that are washed onto shore, frogs, smaller lizards, eggs, and shrews. They are between the size of a northern alligator lizard and the size of a giant Hispaniolan galliwasp.
