Malkova was a Human female who rose to the rank of captain in the Imperial Navy during the Great Galactic War. She made a reputation as one of the strictest, but most efficient and professional, officers of the Sith Empire's armada. So when the Cold War began, it was no surprise to her or anyone who had knew of her reputation that she was selected by the Dark Council for a special project. Malkova got the captaincy of the Devastator, an experimental warship of a new class. It was part of a project by the Empire to develop a more powerful version of the famous Harrower-class dreadnought. She was proud of herself for being the captain of such an important ship. However, in 3,651 BBY, it was infiltrated by a Jedi Knight, who sabotaged the vital systems of the ship and escaped. The Devastator
