The military flash code was a simple code used by the Republic Military as means of sending short-burst transmissions, by utilizing characters in a set sequence in order to transmit information. For example, a dot equaled 1, a dash equaled 10, and X equaled 5. In the year 3951 BBY, miners trapped at the Peragus Mining Facility modified a holo-transmitter into a crude relay that beamed a military flash code transmission containing the numerical sequence needed to activate the turbolift to the Dormitiory level of the facility.
