Live furs were a specialty creation of GalacTech, sold in Cultured Furs shops. They were blended from cat (felis domesticus) genes, and would snuggle up and purr when petted. They were large enough to function as throw rugs or blankets. They came in black, white Persian, and chocolate-point Siamese. Miles Vorkosigan gave one as a gift to Elli Quinn; she later gave a similar gift to him for his wedding.
