In 1834, after a flurry of scandals errupt about the Jackson Administration both President Andrew Jackson and Vice President Martin Van Buren would hold speaking tours of a sort. After a joint speaking tour, a lone assassin by the name of John Rexwell would hold two pistols and shoot the Vice President and President. Both would die and this would end the coaster ride of the Jacksonian Era and lead into a "Whigist" Era of sorts as President Pro Tempore of the Senate George Poindexter of Mississippi would succeede to the Presidency.
