The Lordan's Coat was an heirloom of the Knorth, worn in turn by each Knorth Lordan to attend Tentir. Richly and fabulously embroidered, it was also woven with a hair taken from each successive wearer by the Kendar cadets at the college. Greshan was the last Knorth Lordan to wear the coat, as Jame found it too foul to consider wearing, and her servant Rue was unable to clean the lingering taint from the lordly garment. After the Lordan's Coat was destroyed, a new coat was sewn for Jame by Rue, and embroidered with stitches from all of the Kendar of Jame's class.
