Unlike most Twi'lek Sly's skin was uniquely coloured jet-black. Originally born on the Twi'lek homeworld of Ryloth, Sly was taken along with her mother from Ryloth to be dancers on the club scene on Coruscant. Sly was seperated from her mother early on once leaving Ryltoh, she would never see her mother again.
