It has been a few months since all of the Firestorms have been wiped from existence, and Jason Rusch and Ronnie Raymond have lost their powers. Jason sits in a lab and reflects on how Professor Stein's protocols transformed them into "Nuclear Men". He thinks about how he used to be able to transform one thing into another, when suddenly, there is a flash and the lab is full of balloons. It would seem that maybe his powers are not lost after all. Jason rushes to find Ronnie and informs him that "it" is back. Jason then reflects on how when they first got the power, it was split between them he and Ronnie. Ronnie could throw fire, and Jason could transmute elements.
