The TIE/fc fighter, known better as the TIE Fire Control, is a modified standard TIE Fighter equipped to provide accurate fire control and target designation for long-range naval bombardment of ground or space-based targets. A TIE/fc will maneuver near the target and transmit precise aiming adjustments back to a fleet ship that is safely out of the target's counterfire range. These fighters carry laser target designators to "paint" an enemy target, and are equipped with jam-proof data comlinks.
