When the Cybermen went to search for the Lizard Kings on the Dark Continent, they were attacked by the R'lyeh which protected the god Golgoth. When they returned to attack the beast, they were ambushed by Mondasian Sea Devils who claimed to be the guardians of Golgoth. (COMIC: The Cybermen)
