Hinako is noted for her unique appearance. Whereas most sumo wrestlers in fighting games are large Japanese men wearing traditional sumo gear (e.g. E.Honda in Street Fighter, Ganryu in Tekken, Taka-Arashi in Virtua Fighter, etc.), Hinako is instead a young, petite schoolgirl wearing her school's uniform and having her hair done into 2 pigtails. Regardless of her innocent appearance, she still knows a lot of sumo-based techniques. She has appeared in KOF 00, KOF 01 and KOF 03.
