The dora-mu was a giant, marine creature from the Yuuzhan Vong's home galaxy. It was covered by hundreds of long, chitinous green scales which were able to withstand blaster shots and could heal over time. Its scales were used by Shapers for the armor of an aquatic vehicle called the Vangaak. However, these scales did not die upon removal from the dora-mu since they could mold themselves onto the Vangaak's skeleton and receive nourishment from the living craft.
