Kuhn is an exiled barbarian from Gunnarsgrunn, living in Edgeville. Haba sent Arisha and Castimir to him to learn where to find the rune essence to strengthen the River Salve. They then had to travel to the Mountain of Fire in the Wilderness. He accidentally killed Arisha's father in a drunken fight over his wife, Haba, after which he was banished from the village. Locquacious Annie describes him as "not a nice man."
