The Jurassic Explorers were a group of dinosaurs who almost completely mapped the Jurassic Quadrant (which is presumably named in their honour) and are Teggs's personal heroes. They were a mix of breeds, both herbivores and carnivores (one of the greatest of the Explorers, Alson, was a dryptosaurus), as the two groups cooperated and were presumably at peace until they entered a permanent cold war and split into the Vegetarian and Carnivore Sectors of space. The only creature that they couldn't find was the extremely rare and powerful Star Dragon. However, they encountered solawurms and drove them away from the Quadrant until Lord Rawhead lured Grakk and Heelum back to that part of space.
