The Sovereign Prince or Prince of Vanuku (Vanukeaans: Vorst van Vanuke, Brmek: Wrnukék Mirz) is the reigning constitutional monarch of Vanuku. The title was created in 3696 when Arend van Zuyden tot Banstill refused to be crowned Emperor of Vanuku, insisting on a more humble title. The Sovereign Prince originally served a mostly ceremonial role, had the duty to be politically neutral and could once per year suggest a Royal Mandate to be reviewed by parliament. In the time of the Principality and the Khaganate the Prince became an absolute monarch. The post was restored in August 3864, with the ascension of Prince Juhn.
