The chickrow is a xenoc creature native to the continent of Amarisk on the planet Lalonde. It is a bird-analogue, roughly similar in size to a terrestrial pheasant, and has plumage of a bright scarlet hue. The chickrow produces a range of distinctive noises, from a chittering to a rather silly-sounding warble. This creature is edible by humans; eating chickrow is not normally recommended, however, but hunters in the jungles of Amarisk have been known to use it as an emergency food source.
