Minos of Attica was the younger son of King Oeneus and prince of Attica. He plotted with General Archeus to kill his older brother Orestes of Attica and take the throne but he never wanted to hurt his brother. He hoped to keep him alive but imprisoned. At the time, Iolaus was impersonating Orestes and he managed to rescue the real Orestes and stop the plot. In a fight with Archeus, Minos was killed defending Orestes.
