Tim Carter was a goalkeeper who came through the Rovers youth set-up, before being promoted to the first team squad at the age of seventeen. He went on to make 47 league appearances for Rovers before heading north to Sunderland in 1987. Tim was found dead on 20 June 2008, reportedly having hanged himself.
