The Wrath of the Prophets was a plague that inflicted Bajor in the mid 24th century. This virus spread on the Bajoran home world in 2372 where the lack of a cure resulted in many on the planet believing that it was a sign of displeasure from the Prophets. (DS9 novel: Wrath of the Prophets)
