The Laro Empire can be said to be have been formed when Moff Nausun Rok, who was overseeing Imperial holdings in the Laro Sector, made a grab for power and broke away from the Galactic Empire shortly after the Battle of Hoth. However the Laro Empire as an entity wasn’t made official until after the Battle of Endor, and the start of the Laro Civil War, when the forces of the three principal planets of the Laro Sector went to war for control of the sector. Rok, along with his ally, Admiral Gerid Fohlis, commanded the majority of the Imperial forces in the sector, but badly underestimated the fighting abilities of the Rolani and the far more subtle manipulations of the Orisians, which eventually resulted in a stalemate that lasted the rest of the war.
