When the water supply of his home dimension was getting scarce, Lord Nemo created the Maritorn to plunder the water and whatever else they needed from other planets. In one of his forays he came to Atlantis, stealing their treasures and easily defeating its army, Nemo and his crew returned to their dimension unknowingly followed by Mera and A.J.
