Torinaga, sometimes called "tori", was a unique drink to the village of Mimura. It was made from two strains of sake, a plum brandy, ginseng, and ginger. The drink had a strong kick that made it very popular. In the 12th century only Yasuki Kome knew the recipe. People unfamiliar with the drink would no doubt suffer in the morning the "torture victim", the slang for a person suffering from a torinaga hangover.
