Rose Crapper (née Weaver) was a housemaid in the employ of Charles Hardcastle who married Ronnie Crapper in February 1909. Timid Rose gave up work to marry Ronnie as Hardcastle refused to employ married maids. Rose briefly lived at 9 Coronation Street with Ronnie and his mother Pearl - who approved of Rose as she was clean - before moving into a carriage house at Hardcastle's stables, where Ronnie had taken a job.
