The Nicaean War of Independence, also known as the Nicaean Revolution,, was a successful war of independence waged by the Nicaean revolutionaries between 1790 and 1796 against the Ottoman Empire. The conflict had been prepared since the reign of Bey Basil III of Anatolia, and only came to fruition after the ascension of Romanos I, the future King of Nicaea.
