Operation Lewis and Clark was a military operation undertaken on June 1st, 1997 as part of the opening salvo of the Scottish Conflict. The operation involved the American seizure of the Isles of Lewis and Harris in the Outer Hebrides, where a major Scottish Air Force contingent and critical radar and satellite stations were located. The operation utilized Navy SEALs and US Army Rangers in conjunction with the Special Forces, and precipitated a landing by a regiment of the United States Marine Corps at Stornoway. The entire operation took less than seven hours to complete in the early morning of June 1st after President Steve Martin and Prime Minister John Cleese of England approved an immediate invasion of Scotland.
