The jukjangchang, literally bamboo long spear, is the name of Korean weapon which is first mentioned in the Muyesinbo (1759). As the name suggests, the spear was made from bamboo and quite long, about 4.2 meters. Sometimes the jukjangchang would be made of either whole bamboo stalk or pieces of bamboo glued and woven together. The latter type was stronger. The bamboo made the jukjangchang more flexible than the ordinary jangchang. The weapon could be used to keep the enemy at a distance.
