Penny Johnson Jerald (Born Penny Johnson; March 14, 1961) is an American actress famous for playing the roles of Sherry Palmer in the TV series 24, Kasidy Yates on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine and minor role as Joanne Torence on NCIS. In 2011, she was cast as Captain Victoria "Iron Gates" Gates, as a replacement for Ruben Santiago-Hudson in the fourth season of Castle. She is married to jazz musician Gralin Jerald since 1982. When she happen to not be shooting film or television, she along with her husband Gralin, work side by side for their theatre group, Outreach Christian Theatre Company.
