The university started as the "Ryerson Institute of Technology" in 1948 and changed its name to "Ryerson Polytechnical Institute" in 1966 and then "Ryerson Polytechnic University" in 1993. The current name was adopted in 2001. In any event, Ryerson remained in the OIAA until the conference ended in 1970-71. In 1971-72 they joined the Ontario Universities Athletic Association (OUAA) once the Ontario and Quebec conferences were re-organized along provincial lines. * Official Site * Alumni Site
