The Connect To... utility, located in the Apple menu from Mac OS 8 through Mac OS 8.1, and relocated to the Internet folder in the Apple menu in Mac OS 8.5, integrated the Internet into the Apple menu. When you choose Connect To..., you are prompted for a Web address or email address to open (e.g. wikia.com or feedback@apple.com). When you click Connect, your Mac connects to the Internet (it may need to dial up to the ISP first, and then launches the Web browser or email program that has been preconfigured on your system.
