The chain of social development marks the steps that are involved in the introduction, replication and integration of new activites in society. The sequence begins with the introduction of a new individual act by a pioneering individual. The act is repeated by others. Gradually the society takes note of the new initiative, comes to accept and provide organized support. Later the activity becomes integrated into the functioning of the society as a social institution and eventually matures into culture, custom and usage. Finally it becomes an integral part of the social consciousness.
