The Polakavos were highly intelligent free-living nematodes, or roundworms, native to Gabbshu. Polakavos were unusual among worms in that they had developed limbs, a distinct head, and eyes. Perhaps the oddest natural characteristic of the Polakavos species was their heightened connection to the Force; an incredible 86% of all Polakavos had strong telepathic and telekinetic abilities that Jedi confirm are due to a very strong Force connection. As a culture, the Polakavos had extremely deep spiritual beliefs, and made up the bulk of the Alliance of Sentient Races' religious caste.
