The founding of the group was a mutual agreement between the Great Beings, formed in the case should any of their number fall into darkness and threaten the Universe. Takrah was quick to join Antrahk and remained his most trusted ally during the Great Beings' Crisis. Dartrakh's actions that sparked that particular struggle proved to the council that was the first time that it had ever been needed; as after Dartrakh's death Mata Nui was born, thus forcing Antrahk and the others to leave the Jalkadomera Galaxy in which they were based. However the council's role was not so limited; for it did prevent disasters and cosmic disturbances in the galaxy. Once the council's members left along with Dartoba, the freak events worsened resulting in the destruction of Jepundros.
