Peter "Pistol Pete" Sargent is a technician with the Regional Crime Laboratory's Firearm Analysis Unit. In 2012, he was visited by Los Angeles Police Department detective Harry Bosch, who needed a filed serial number raised on a Beretta model 92. Bosch got Sargent to take his request out of order and do it at lunchtime by bringing him a meatball sandwich from Giamela's. Sargent was able to get all the serial number except one digit. The number was BER0060_52.
