Blood Work is the seventh novel written by Michael Connelly, and the first to feature FBI criminal profiler Terry McCaleb. The book was published in 1998, and won the 1999 Anthony Award, the 1999 Macavity Award, and the 1999 International Grand Prix. The novel was also nominated for the Honkaku Mystery Grand Prize for Best Foreign Mystery of the Decade, but lost to Jack Kerley's The Death Collectors. The book was also adapted into a 2002 film starring and directed by Clint Eastwood.
