The new roster focuses on expanding the current represented roster and focuses less on adding new franchises, with almost all franchises getting new reps. There are still a few newly introduced franchises. (Please note that this is an alternate 4th game, so features and characters in the Super Smash Bros. 3DS/Wii U do not have to appear in this game.)
