Otomo Tsurichi was Hantei XVI's second-younger brother, three years younger than Hantei Okucheo. He was a fraternal twin to Otomo Michiko and a noted duelist trained in the Seppun Miharu school. Tsurichi was known as a staunch supporter of the Steel Chrysanthemum. In 608 he was killed in an illegal duel with Akodo Tsurikan, the Emperor's enforcer.
