Richard Slattery (June 26, 1925 - January 27, 1997) appeared in episodes of The Andy Griffith Show and Mayberry R.F.D. He played the recurring roles of Sgt. John McKenna on "The Gallant Men", Captain Morton on "Mister Roberts" and a policeman on "Bewitched". His film appearances include Till the End of Time, Butterfield 8, The Secret War of Harry Frigg, The Boston Strangler, Walking Tall, and the Disney films Herbie Rides Again and The Apple Dumpling Gang Rides Again.
