The RG170 features an agathis body bolted to a maple neck with a 24-fret maple fingerboard with black dot position markers. Components include a synchronized tremolo bridge and Ibanez Powersound pickups in an HSH configuration. The RG170R is a similar model with a rosewood fretboard while the RG170DX has a rosewood fretboard and sharktooth position markers.
