Lieutenant Šustek rose through the ranks to command a tank company in the veteran 1st Mechanized Brigade during the collapse, and single-handedly rebuilt the decimated unit into a formidable combat force. Her company's Panther 1A3 main battle tanks have been rebuilt from the treads up using parts and armor scavenged from wrecked vehicles taken from battlefields across southeastern Europe.
