In 2153, Captain Jonathan Archer, after being captured by the Tellarite bounty hunter Skalaar and subsequently handed over to Klingon captain Goroth, used this type of Klingon escape pod to leave Goroth's starship. He was later rescued from the pod by Enterprise NX-01. (ENT: "Bounty") In 2154, Doctor Arik Soong used a Klingon escape pod to leave his captured Bird-of-Prey following Malik's attempt to claim the ship for himself.
