The Vogons are an alien race, and are often considered to be the antagonists in Douglas Adams's The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy series. They have a strong hatred of humanity and are entirely evil, and they are extremely jurisdictional, bureaucratic, legislative, murderous, and uncaring towards others. They are known for have written the third worst poety in the universe, which they use to torture intruders. They are also known for successfully destroying the Earth for an intergalactic bypass, after getting orders from the galactic government. The Captain of the Contructor Fleet that demolished Earth was named Prostetnic Vogon Jeltz.
