Misery is a woman that seems to live up to her name, although she does show some compassion towards her friends, other than that she is depicted as a sadistic villain who takes pleasure in the suffering of others and uses her sonic-shriek to devastating effect when in combat. Misery is also openly lesbian, much as Pain is bisexual due to her species requiring male life-energy to exist despite Pain prefering female company (indeed the pair are often shown together).
