EX Cancel is a unique tactic that allows players with a full EX Gauge to cancel their current attack, and then start them up again. It is the offensive tactic of EX Mode activation. When certain characters attack their opponents, they use moves that require timed inputs. While using such attacks, activating EX Mode in the middle of the attack will cause the character to reset and return to a standard position, as if they weren't attacking at all. Players can then follow up with another attack.
