Bristol Rovers and Cheltenham Town have met on sixteen occasions, all of which have been in the Football League. The first meeting between the teams was in November 2001. Cheltenham's Whaddon Road ground was scheduled to be Rovers' temporary home from the start of the 2008–09 season while the Memorial Stadium was being redeveloped, however that plan was shelved when it was decided to stay at the Mem during the work. That plan was eventually also abandoned when the new UWE Stadium was announced.
