Until the development of the Warhound-class Corvette, the Delphinus-class Frigate was the Black Star Confederacy's main weapon against starfighter attacks, but the steep cost of these Delphinus ended with the decision to build smaller escorts. To augment the Delphinus-class Frigates the Confederacy has begun producing the Warhound-class Corvette. Its speed and weapons are unmatched for its size and class. Unfortunately it is not very effective against other capital ships, but against fightercraft it is lethal. In 17 ABY, the class was upgraded with antimatter reactors and BioComps.
