Roland comes from a respectable African-American family. He pushed himself through Yale Law School and obtained his license in under three years. He married his childhood sweetheart Carla Young and had two daughters, Hayley and Ashley. They divorced after 14 years, however, due to his pre-occupancy with his job as a lawyer taking a lot out of their marriage.
